Mokuma Kikuhata started to take part in the activities of Mokuma Kikuhata started to take part in the activities of the Kyushu-Ha School in 1957. From 1958 to 1961 he drew much attention through his presentations at the Yomiuri Independent Exhibition. He had created the Slave Genealogy series and so on. He showed his works at the exhibition, "ATTITUDE 2002" (2002) at Contemporary Art Museum Kumamoto. He was awarded Enku Prize (2004) and had been appointed to a guest professor of Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music from 2004 to 2006.
