Judge's History |

Judge: Tomio Koyama (1967--)
Koyama Tomio runs renowned contemporary art galleries in Tokyo and Kyoto.
He has held many exhibitions for Japanese artists of his generation, most notably Yoshitomo Nara and Takashi Murakami. He is also responsible for introducing a generation of foreign artists, including Tom Friedman and Tom Sachs among others to the Japanese market. Since opening his art galleries, he has played an active role at numerous international art fairs promoting the works of Japanese artists. He has proved instrumental in putting Japanese artists on the world map as well as growing a fully-fledged art market. |
