We would like to introduce CAMK's fourth exhibition, "Open Sky - Kazuhiko Hachiya:From PostPet to Moewe." The international media artist, Kazuhiko Hachiya, was born in Saga in 1966 and graduated from the Kyushu Institute of Design.
PostPet is a popular, revolutionary e-mail software and Hachiya is the Representative Director of PetWORKs Co., which deals with software development and direction for all works of PostPet. He is internationally acclaimed as a media artist who integrates art and science into the human world.

  Museum hours: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. (No one will be admitted after 7:30 p.m.)
  Closed*: Tuesday
Entrance fees: Adult =700 yen (500 yen)
High school/university students = 450 yen (350 yen)
Junior high/elementary school students = 250 yen (200 yen)
*Parentheses indicate reduced price for groups of 20 or more.

In Open Sky, Hachiya's biggest solo exhibition up-to-date, we will show his most famous works such as Inter Discommunication Machine (1993-), which forces you to see through someone else's eyes, Light/Depth (1993,1995) an artwork for skaters where a picture of the sea is projected on a monitor and the height of the wave changes as you skate, and AirBoard (1997-) a sculptured board with a jet engine that is made for the purpose of hovering in the air (reminiscent of the one featured in the movie Back to the Future Part 2). From Postpet to his most recent work Moewe (2003-), the flying machine that appears in the film Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind directed by Hayao Miyazaki, this fantastic exhibition is designed to share numerous dreams of the future and tenderly deliver them to its viewers.
We hope that you will enjoy Hachiya's dream-inspiring world to your heart's content at the "human home" Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto.
