Assate Asagao Project in Kumamoto (April-October 2007)
This Project is to cultivate "Asatte Asagao" at Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto, Kamitori-pavilion, Shimotori-Nibangai, Sanroad Shinshigai, Joutou Elementary School in Kumamoto, Hot Spring Resort Area in Tsuetate and five potteries in Amakusa.
 

Assate Asagao Project in Kumamoto: Ceremony of Picking Seeds of Asagao (October 30 2007
With Katsuhiko Hibino, a ceremony is held, picking seeds of Asagao cultivated at Joutou Elementary School, Kamitori, Shimotori, Shinshigai and CAMK.
 

Workshop - Let’s Create Ishigaki, Cardboard “Stone Wall”!
You can enjoy this workshop at various places in Kumamoto City. Ishiku volunteer staffs help you make cardboard “Stones”. Please visit every venue.

HIGO BY HIBINO (Gallery I)
·Ishigaki Project
You can join in building the big Ishigaki (Stone Wall for Castle) made of cardboard in the Museum.
·Asatte Shinbunsya Kumamoto Bureau
Asatte Shinbun Kumamoto Bureau is set up in the gallery room. During the exhibition, reporters collect news about “HIGO BY HIBINO” to publish “Asatte Shinbun -Kumamoto Version.”

The entire picture of “Asatte Asagao Project”, held at 14 places in Japan, is shown here.
·Traditional Crafts Projects
Collaborative work of Katsuhiko Hibino and Traditional Crafts of Kumamoto materialized new works. Sophisticated skills of “Amakusa-Tojiki” (ceramics), “Higo-Zogan” (Inlay), “Hana-Goza” (rush grass mat), “Higo-Temari” (thread ball) and “Yamaga-Toro” (paper lantern) bore fruits as newly created art. Creating processes of them are also introduced in the exhibition.

You will trace back the way Katsuhiko Hibino has come, who started his career as Graphic Designer, producing a lot of marvelous art works.

Hibino Cup 2007 in Kumamoto Co-Hosted by Junior Chamber International Kumamoto and CAMK
This is a football-style workshop. Participants are asked to make cardboard “goal”, bubble wrap “ball”, and uniforms before enjoying the games. “Rosso Kumamoto” members and Japan’s player Masakiyo Maezono will kindly join this event. Although application deadline was over, you are welcome to see the games.

You can enjoy creating cardboard “Ishigaki” in the workshops;
(1) putting color chips on cardboard stones (Anytime)
(2) cutting cardboards and making Ishigaki stones. (13:00-16:00 on Saturdays)

“HIBINO ROOM” at Hotel Nikko Kumamoto
Hotel Nikko Kumamoto presents specially designed accommodation plan for this exhibition. It includes Hibino’s original goods, exhibition tickets and artistically arranged room produced by Hibino for one pair per day.
