Since May 2002, CAMK has welcomed visitors with beautiful flower arrangements created by the 20 Ikebana schools in Kumamoto. CAMK is well-known throughout Japan for its featuring of Ikebana art.
Ikebana, one of traditional culture of Japan tell us not only beauty of flowers but also importance of heart that can feel four seasons, importance of expression through flowers and nature and importance of succeeding to the tradition like this.
This year, 4th of this exhibition, we want you to have a new understanding of how we are happy thanks to behaviors of flower arranging. And we believe firmly that you can feel and understand histories of harmonies between Ikebana and traditional Japanese cultures and new Ikebana collaborating with works in the CAMK. |
