We would like to introduce the CAMK Grand Opening Commemorative Exhibition Vol. 3, "The Power of Kyushu." Kyushu was marked not only by artists such as Seiki Kuroda, Takeji Fujishima, and Shigeru Aoki who left their impact on modern art history, but of course by the post-war Kyushu School members who served as Neo-Dadaism organizers and as the hub of vanguard art. Within the Japanese art world, examples of Kyushu art ranged from government-sponsored exhibitions to vanguard creations, and displayed a truly original quality. This exhibition contains works from Kyushu to Okinawa and attempts to capture the climate and history of these areas, as well as to examine their great artistic strength.
